This could include assistance in transferring, weight or load bearing. We aim to provide solutions that will assist a carer to keep caring for an elderly partner or adult child at home. Lifts and hoists can be customized to remove straining or bending backs. Outdoor or pool / spa hoists can be developed to work on water pressure.

Talking to the outside world

This client has been bed ridden for a number of years and required constant care and visits from carers and friends. TADWA designed a height adjustable and retractable table and installed a laptop computer with a modified keyboard so that the client could lye on the bed and access the internet in comfort. The client is now much more independent and shops from home and communicates with friends and family via the internet. The need for regular visits by carers has reduced dramatically as a result of this effort.

Many of our clients are experiencing quality of life enhancements as a result of access to the internet from home. The TADWA Computer Loan Service was established to provide affordable access to the internet by refurbishing donated computer equipment.

Assisting Personal Hygiene

Many people take being able to wipe your own bottom for granted. Some people who may have movement limitations or dexterity issues or who are overweight will find it demeaning to be assisted by a carer at toilet time. We customise this device according to each client’s needs.

Fold-down Change-table & Shower

This family had a young child who needed to be showered / changed in the family bathroom. To avoid working at an awkward height we installed a portable shower / change table over the bath. We used thee the existing hose and drain. The table can fold away when other family members need to use the bathroom. TADWA customized a commercially available option to assist the needs of the carer, child and family.
