Microsoft Sponsorship

Microsoft Community Involvement

By supporting not-for-profit refurbishers around Australia, Microsoft aims to contribute to the increased distribution of second hand technology to organizations and individuals who would otherwise be without.

Microsoft also aims to increase the value of donated PCs to these groups and individuals by supplying Operating Systems and approved software for refurbished PCs free of charge through MAR accredited organizations.

Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher program

Microsoft's Authorised Refurbisher (MAR) program helps organisations donate or sell refurbished PCs to charities, community groups or disadvantaged individuals who lack access to technology.

The program ensures PCs from MARs are professionally refurbished and that a Microsoft Operating System is legally installed on each system.

TADWA has been accredited under this scheme and adheres to the strict requirements of the program.

What is a refurbished PC?

"Refurbishment" = the process of cleaning, overhauling and updating a donated PC before it can be acquired by a new recipient.

It refers to the removal of all data and software remaining on the machine, and the repair, replacement or addition of parts required to make the PC function correctly. All refurbishments carried out by refurbishers in the Microsoft Authorised Refurbishers (MAR) program are performed by skilled volunteers and qualified technicians or IT professionals.

All refurbished machines supplied by Microsoft Authorised Refurbishers (MARs) are installed with a fully licensed Windows Operating System.

The support we receive from Microsoft is extremely important to the success of the Computer Service operation and is a testament to the commitment by Microsoft to supporting community initiatives in Australia and in particular, Western Australia.
