CS General Information
How does the scheme work? Successful applicants are issued with a multi-media computer that best matches their needs as detailed in the application. The computers come free of charge for all used components and customers are required to enter into a 2 year support agreement (desktop / tower) and 1 year support agreement (laptop) with TADWA. This agreement provides a full warranty for all used components (other than printers). Customers also have access to our Help Desk for support purposes and we will rectify Operating System problems and assist with other issues such as virus and spyware removal at no charge to the customer. TADWA also offers basic computer skills training as part of the agreement. Such training can be by way of classroom training at Eden Hill, in-home training where we have suitable volunteers available, or by obtaining one of our interactive multi-media training CDs. The overall aim is to make these computers available at a minimum cost and in good working condition throughout the term of the loan agreement. At present the loan agreement (for a desktop) attracts a fee of $50.00 every quarter for the first year and then only $40 each quarter for the second year, total of $360. Customers are more than welcome to use CentrePay facilities to pay for the loan instalments. From time to time (depending on availability) we are able to offer laptops. A loan agreement for a laptop is $300 (with a support agreement for 1 year) paid by CentrePay or installments of $75 per quarter. There are instances where we do not have some second hand components available. In this case, customers are required to pay for new components. These components become the property of the customer, and at the completion of your contract the computer is yours. We encourage the purchase of some new components as this ensures a healthy life for the system over the term of the agreement. These purchased components can be transferred to upgraded machines when the time comes, hence reducing the cost of the upgrade. Customers become eligable for a review and possible upgrade on completion of the 1st year of the agreement. Please contact the CS Administration for more details on this scheme. Who is eligable? People with disabilities, the frail aged and carers throughout Western Australia. How to apply People wishing to obtain a computer through the scheme are required to complete a Computer Service Application form and send it to TADWA for processing. Application forms are available by contacting TADWA or can be downloaded and printed by clicking here. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view this document. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed please click on side panel link. Applicants must provide us with as much detail as possible in order to speed up the approval process and to ensure that we supply a system that at least matches the minimum requirements for each request. |
