What does it cost to upgrade my computer?
To upgrade your computer you need to take out a new service agreement with us. This agreement is for 2 years and you pay either by CentrePay, installments or upfront payments. The total cost of support for the 2 years after upgrade is $360.00. If you purchase new equipment as part of the upgrade, this cost is added to the amount of the service agreement.

You say the upgraded computer is free. Why do I have to pay money?
TADWA provides second hand equipment to customers free of any charge for the used hardware. Often customers wish to have new items installed. TADWA needs to buy these items and passes the cost on to the customer.

Do I get to keep the new equipment I buy?
Yes. Anything you pay for in the way of hardware is yours to keep (that is at the end of your service contract). You can have it transferred to any upgraded system if it is still appropriate to use. Any new equipment you buy is covered by factory warranty.

Do I need to return my computer for the upgrade?
Yes. As part of the upgrade process we need to copy data from your current system so that you don’t lose it. You may also have previously purchase some hardware that we need to transfer to your new computer. However, always ensure you do your own data backups.

What happens to my old computer?
The old computer is returned to TADWA stock for use as spare parts for other machines. If the computer is really old and we cannot use it we can recycle it properly.

Do I have to re-install my programs after the upgrade?
Yes. You will receive a newly formatted computer. TADWA will install a new Operating System and all TADWA approved software together with any drivers and programs necessary to make your printer and modem work. If you would like us to re-install your programs you must provide the CDs when we do the upgrade.

What happens if I decide not to renew my Service Agreement?
A service agreement entitles you to all the benefits we offer:
- Full warranty
- Help Desk support
- Free training
- Full service cover in the event of system failure or virus/spyware infection.
- Upgrades
- Free TADWA approved software.
These items can be costly at computer stores. This is why the TADWA CS exists—to give you affordable access to a computer without the financial headaches.
If you choose not to renew your contract you place yourself at risk and become ineligible for our services.

How do I get help for my computer onsite?

What is the difference between a desktop and a tower?
The desktop system typically is laid out flat on the desk with the monitor on top of the case. This method often requires additional space as to be using the system ergonically you will need to have the keyboard and mouse in front of the system.
A tower system is an upright unit, which usually stands on the floor or in a shelf either under or off to the side of the desk. It does not typically take up as much room as the desktop and it can be easier to fit onto smaller desk environments.

What do I need to prepare for when I get an installation?
It is imperative that you have an area big enough for the computer and its peripherals cleared, with at least a four way surge protected power supply and appropriate seating / lighting.
If you have an internet account and we are doing the installation we require that you have the ISP (internet service providers) details, like username, password, connection protocol. This is usually sent to you on CD from your service provider.
